The Public Library under the Ratnapura Municipal Council wins the Gold Award again

The 2025 National Reading Month Awards Ceremony was held on 20.11.2025 at the National Library and Documentation Services Board Auditorium under the patronage of the Minister of Buddhasasana Religious and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.

Awards were presented to 52 Municipal Councils Urban Councils Pradeshiya Sabhas and school libraries that launched effective reading promotion programs and the Ratnapura Public Library won the first place in the island under the Municipal Council Library category.

The award ceremony organized by the National Library and Documentation Services Board was attended by Dr. Ratna Sri Wijesinghe Chairman of the Library and Documentation Services Board W. Sunil Director General of the National Library and Documentation Services Board Senani Bandara Director of the National Library and Documentation Services Board and Iromi Wijesundara Deputy Director of the National Library and Documentation Services Board among others.
